VClock is a replacement for the old "Rugby" clocks (the signals for which have moved from Rugby to Cumbria, so are unavailable to many sites in the south of England), and the lights panel that was traditionally found on the wall of a radio studio. It's a software application that can be controlled by external devices (such as GPIs, serial or IP data, http posts and snmp traps).

The basic clock can tell the time in analogue and digital formats, tell you the "English" way to say it (other languages are available or you can create your own), and backtime to several junctions in the hour. It can have your station logo on the clock, and each lamp can also have an image rather than a caption. It has up to 32 lamps which are completely configurable and can be turned on / off or made to flash when external triggers (such as a "mic live" signal from a mixing console or a phone call) tell it to.

VClock also has an embedded web browser, which allows you to show any content that you like on VClock, simply by creating a webpage.

The intelligent scripting language allows you to change the colours/states of the lamps, clock and background at startup, and can be made to completely change all settings upon reception of a trigger.

Don't miss our other related products, AudionicsGateway, VMeters and VScroll, which are a perfect addition to VClock (and equally work very well on their own!).

VClock is available as a free download which is fully functional apart from the inability to change the caption / add an image, and use of the external interfaces (GPI, serial, IP) to control the on-screen lamps is limited to only 10 commands before the clock needs to be restarted. An "unlicenced" message appears on the face of the free version.

Our favourite hardware interfaces

VClock can interface with lots of equipment over the network, including Axia, DHD, Lawo and Wheatstone Consoles. All of these consoles can benefit from VClock controlling extra source selections or audio routing. But sometimes you need extra buttons, or to control non-IP enabled equipment. Here are our favourites:

VClock can connect to RODECaster Duo / RODECaster Pro / RODECaster Pro II consoles over MIDI to create a Mic Live lamp, and convert button presses into physical outputs to drive external equipment.

VClock can use 6, 15 or 32 button versions of the StreamDeck to extend the on-screen buttons to a hardware panel. These can be used to control a console's monitoring or audio routing, or VClock can convert them to physical closures for other equipment. The on-button displays are controlled in the same way as an on-screen lamp, so can be dynamically updated.

VClock can interface with many XKeys devices. They are by far the most cost effective way to get contact closures into VClock and also have various button panels that can be used with VClock. Shown in the picture are a 12 input and 3 input GPI device, an XK-24 hand-held device and an XKE-40 rackmount panel. VClock can take button presses to control audio routing or monitoring in IP consoles for example, and can control the button lamps.

Recently we have added support for the USB GPIO and HD15-Wire interfaces which add a sensibly-priced GPO Output solution for VClock as well as inputs (up to 12 outputs with the configurable USB GPIO device).
